Vegetable plant nursery founded by Govert Beekenkamp with a garden covering 1.3 hectares

A hurricane in the Westland region of the Netherlands destroys 5,000 m2, but the nursery is back in business in 22 days.

Purchase of Lyraflor Chrysantemums.

New opportunities emerge. Beekenkamp Verpakkingen starts developing custom-made trays, boxes and other packaging for plant cultivation so that the company can respond to customer requests more effectively.
1993
We launch our pot and bedding plants business with the creation of Beekenkamp Ornamentals.
1995-2005
Production sites established in Kenya, Uganda and Ethiopia with a focus on chrysanthemum cuttings.
1997
Foundation of Deliflor as our chrysanthemum breeder & expansion of the nurseries in Lutjebroek and Rousson.

Daughters Annie & Margriet take over their father’s company shares.

Deliflor expands into Latin America and Japan. Takeover of Florema Young Plants: a big expansion in the product range.

Beekenkamp Verpakkingen (Packaging) develops the Quick-fold tray – an innovation which saves space and money.

Beekenkamp Plants signs a contract with Home & Garden magazine.
