Beekenkamp Group builds future with new greenhouse field crops
On Wednesday, May 1, the first pile was driven at Beekenkamp Plants’ new construction site. Employees gathered to festively open the construction of the new building. After a motivational speech by An Beekenkamp, the Beekenkamp Group management officially pushed the red button after which the first pile went into the ground.
Beekenkamp Group is building a new 4-hectare site because the current location is outdated. The new greenhouse will be modernized and will offer many advantages in terms of greenhouse and labor technology. There will be new machinery and automation capabilities that will allow even more efficient work. A new press line for producing field vegetables will also be added, allowing plants to be produced even faster. Although the numbers remain the same, this will allow for smoother work. The greenhouse will also become considerably more sustainable.
Construction company Hofman will build the barn. The current barn is too small for the plant numbers and will be expanded to provide more space. Demolition of the current greenhouse will begin in late May. Beekenkamp Group expects the new construction site to be completed by the end of 2024.
